Whether you are someone who craves something savory or sweet first thing in the morning, I am sure you will find this recipe perfect for breakfast! Sharing my favourite Breakfast recipe of Moong Dal Dhokla with spices coriander chutney and sweet and sour dates tamarind chutney which is Yummy, Filling, Steamed, Low on Calories, High on Nutrition and Easy and Quick to make! What else do we need???

For Dhokla Batter: 1 Cup moong dal floor, 1 tsp ginger and green chilli paste, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar, 1/2 Lemon juice, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 cup water, 1 tsp fruit salt.
For Tadka/Tempering: 2 tsp oil, 1 tsp mustard seeds and sesame seeds each, few Curry leaves, 1 or 2 Green chillies, fresh grated coconut and fresh chopped coriander leaves.
Mix all dhokla batter ingredients except for fruit salt. Whisk until the batter becomes fluffy and light (for approximately 5 to 6 mins) Grease the cake pan with oil. Add fruit salt to dhokla batter and whisk until it is mixed well. Pour the batter in greased pan and place the pan in the steamer for 6 to 8 mins. Check if dhokla is cooked before removing from steam by inserting knife or spoon. If it comes clean, it is steamed completely. Demould the dhokla and temper it with above mentioned tadka ingredients and garnish with fresh coconut and coriander leaves. Imp tip: To keep dhokla moist, pour a cup of lemon and sugar dissolved water on dhokla before tempering. This keeps dhokla moist and soft. Enjoy with your preferred chutney.
