What holds you back from chasing your dreams? 💫
For so long, I wanted to work in nutrition or health. But I always put it aside, saying I had no time, that I needed to work through my traumas, or that I needed to focus on the boys and my career. And, for some time, perhaps I did. 💜💜
However, more than anything, I realised that it was always fear (and myself!) holding me back. Fear of the unknown, fear of failing at one of my dreams, fear of simply taking the leap and trusting in the process. Of trusting in me. 💫
Now, I’ve finally made the leap – and the excitement and goosebumps I’ve felt as I started my training shows me how right this is for me! ☺️☺️❤️ I only wish I’d done it sooner, although the time to reflect over lockdown was important.
So, my question for you (you don’t need to tell me, unless you want to!) – what holds you back, and why? Could you make a leap of your own too?
Anyway, back to food and this dreamy Chocolate Orange Fig Tart! As you know, it’s one of my all-time fave flavour combos (if you’ve not tried it, you must!!). Here’s how to make it: 🍫 🍊
CHOCOLATE ORANGE FIG TART 🍊🍫
I used my raw brownie recipe (a few posts back) with added orange zest
250ml plant-based cream of choice (I used coconut)
300g good quality dark chocolate, finely chopped
Large pinch salt
Zest one orange
Drop edible orange oil
Maple syrup, to sweeten (optional)
Make your base, then place in the fridge to firm. To make your filling, gently heat the cream until warm but not boiling. Remove from the heat, then add in remaining ingredients. Cover and allow to stand for a few minutes, then whisk until smooth and chocolatey – apply a touch more heat to melt, if needed! Pour over tart tin, then top with fig slices. Place in the fridge to set overnight.
