Ingredients: 1 cup of split peas, 1 cup of vegetable oil, 1 package of beefless ground, 1 onion, 1 clove minced garlic, 2 cinnamon stick (optional), 3 tablespoons of tomato paste, 1 teaspoon of turmeric, 6 cups of water, Salt and pepper, 6 small potatoes, peeled and cut,3 dried lemons

Directions: Cook the split peas in a pan by adding 6 cups of water. Bring the water to a boil, cover tightly with a lid and let it cook slowly about 30 minutes on medium heat. .
In a different pot, heat oil and fry your diced onions. Add minced garlic and turmeric, stir for about a minute. Then add your beefless ground to cook. Then, add the tomato paste, salt and pepper and saffron, and continue to cook for about 5 more minutes. .
Take the sauteed mix and add it to the split peas saucepan. Using a fork, make a few holes in your 3 dried lemons and add them to the mix. Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 1 hour. Add more water if necessary.

Heat oil in a large saucepan, then fry the cut potato strips until golden brown on both sides.
