🐟 Vegan-licious Fish & Chips 🍟
✨BANANA BLOSSOM VEGAN FISH✨
This Vegan Fish is made with Banana Blossoms that are so soft and flaky! 😍 I have heard about Banana Blossom many times but I have never seen it in the stores, so I thought it was one of the ingredients I would never get my hands on. I was so excited when @souleygreen sent it to me and I decided to use it to make my first Vegan Fish and Chips.🍟
For the preparation of batter💛:
100 gram of plain flours
175ml of cold sparkling water
1 and 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
A squeeze of lemon juice
Pinch of salt
Mix all the ingredients and adding the sparkling water gradually into it.
Whisk the batter until it reach a consistency of thin custard.
In a separate bowl, prepare a flour mixture below:
50g of plain flours
1/2 teaspoon of corn starch
For the banana blossom🧡:
Rinse and pat dry the @naturescharmsg banana blossoms. Marinate it with nori, lemon, salt and pepper for at least an hour.
For the tartar sauce🤍:
Black Pepper and Salt to taste
Follow the steps below to make your first vegan fish and chips!
Step 1: Preheat about 1 litres of oil to 175°c.
Step 2: Coat the banana blossoms with the flour mixture.
Step 3: Dip the banana blossoms in the batter.
Step 4: Fry for about 4 minutes and flip them once.
Step 5: Transfer it to an oil draining rack or onto a kitchen paper to remove the excess oil.
Step 6: Serve the vegan fish with vegan tartar sauce, fries and lemon wedges. Voilà!
