Vegan Garlic Cheese Bread (WFPB)
I don’t think this needs a big introduction. I mean, who doesn’t love garlic bread 😂😅
I love making these but they do contain lots of butter 😔 Be aware these also contain a certain amount of fat, but not oil. The oil or butter is replace by cashew butter (almond butter will work as well). These make a great dish on its own with some salad or as an appetizer 😍
Cheesy Garlic Butter
Ingredients for one Baguette:
•2 tbsp of nut nutter (best with no strong flavor on its own)
•3-4 tbsp of water
•2 tbsp of nutritional yeast
•1 clove of garlic
•1 tsp of lemon juice
•Salt and pepper to taste
Mix the nut butter with the water. This should result in a paste. The water will thicken the nut butter at first immensely, but continue to add water and you will obtain a smooth paste. Add the nutritional yeast. This will thicken up the paste again, add water if it is too thick. If your paste is too thin there are two options: add some nut butter or add nutritional yeast.
My paste looks brown, because I used a nutritional yeast which is quite brown and pungent in taste.
Add the smashed clove of garlic and spread it on the bread. You can toast the bread on its own, but I added tomatoes and onions rings to enlighten the bread and to add a small crunch 👌🏻
