Treat yourself Thursday!! It’s time to make….

CHICKY-JOES

Ingredients:
-2 cans of chickpeas
-2 small yellow onions
-2 cups of cooked lentils
-1 cup ketchup
-1/4 cup water
-2 tbsp maple syrup
-2 tsp vegan Worcestershire
-1 tsp garlic powder
-1/2 tsp salt
-1/4 black pepper
-1/4 tsp liquid smoke
-1 tsp smoked paprika
-Vegan whole wheat buns

Directions:
Cook lentils according to instructions on packet. Drain and dry chickpeas. Place in a bowl and mash with a potato masher. Mix together the ketchup, water, maple syrup, vegan Worcestershire, garlic powder, salt, pepper, liquid smoke, and smoked paprika. Dice the onions and throw in a pan over medium high heat. Sauté onions and add 1 tbsp of water when it starts to stick to pan. Add the chickpeas, lentils, and sauce and stir. Cover and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes. Toast buns and serve!!
