This time we bring to you a recipe from our own Mangalorean roots. Our mom comes from a small town called Valencia in Mangalore, India. She is an amazing chef. We were hopeful that all four of us inherited that quality. Clearly, that didn’t happen. 🤣

Our favourite growing up was Neer Dosa (literal meaning water rice batter crepes).
Recently, she taught us this variation called Baajra Neer Dosa. Here’s the recipe!

Bajra Neer Dosa aka Pearl Millet & Rice Crepes

1 cup pearl millet flour
½ cup rice flour
salt to taste
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 small onion (finely chopped)
2 green chilli (finely chopped)
1 piece ginger (finely chopped)
1 teaspoon oil for batter
Oil for
coriander leaves (optional)
3 cup water

Mix all the ingredients together to form a batter. Add a ladleful of this batter on a pan (medium-high flame). Spread the batter in circular motions to make the dosa as thin as possible. Cook till the dosa turns a little golden brown. Serve it with chutney or vegetable curry. 🌱🌱
