??This green bean stew is a delicious, easy to make, super stew. It’s a staple in many middle eastern homes as it’s known for its benefits and rich flavor ??

Its main ingredient, green flat romano beans are one of the healthiest vegetables for heart health ❤??They’re a good source for vitamins, protein and folate which converts carbs into energy.

This meal is loaded with tons of yummy garlic and onions, which makes it a kissing hazard ?? make sure to bring a strong mouthwash if having it before a hot summer date ?❤

2.5 lbs flat green Romano beans (fresh or frozen)
5 tomatoes, diced
1 tbsp tomato paste, diluted with water
9 garlic cloves, 6 sliced and 3 minced
1 small onion
Olive oil

Start by sauteing the onions and 6 garlic cloves in olive oil. Then add the Romano beans with 1 cup of water. Cover it and let it simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes. When half cooked, you can add tomatoes, tomato paste and 3 cloves of minced garlic. Adjust salt and pepper, cover it again and let it simmer on low heat for 10 to 15 minutes or until the beans turn into a pale green color, just like the one in the picture. You can add more tomato paste if you like it heavy on the tomatoes. Also you can substitute fresh tomatoes with canned ones but I personally prefer fresh tomatoes.
When cooked, uncover, turn off the heat and drizzle a bit more olive oil.
This meal can be had warm or cold with a side of fresh pita bread or rice.

Enjoy ?
