✨TEST & REVIEW✨ this week is made by the infamous @itslivb – it’s a “Hamburger Pot Pie Casserole”
The picture I took totally doesn’t do this hearty, warming, gravy filled dish justice. It is actually soooo good.
The prep took a bit of time (approx 20 minutes), although most of the ingredients were ones we had on hand, so we didn’t have to shop for special ingredients. Using the @beyondmeat beef, it put the price point a little bit higher than most dishes we create/enjoy. I feel like you could use TVP or even brown lentils in this dish (cooked with veggie broth so the flavour is sustained) if you wanted a more cost-friendly replacement! Though, even if you have 2 beyond burgers/veggie burgers on hand, any ground-like food will do! – I was going to skip on the buttery biscuit-y topping as I was just SO hungry and ready to eat – but I’m glad I didn’t skip out! Worth itttt.
Overall, would make again! I will be adding this to the rotation of favourites I like to make often. You could easily make this gluten free by replacing the flour with an all purpose GF flour. I love how it makes 6 servings so I can meal prep some for leftovers over the week. Anything with leftovers that I can quickly warm up over the week is a win for me!
Price: 5/10 (beyond beef is a little pricey, but if you want some alternatives I listed some things I might try above that has a lower price point! All the ingredients we had on hand so we didn’t even have to go shopping!)
Difficulty: 4/10 (it’s quite easy! I gave it this rating because there are a few steps in preparation and the biscuits might give you some trouble – but worth it and not too difficult.)
