Sweet & sour crispy tofu ?
Ok I’m testing out tofu marinades at the moment butttt, now I’m stuck with this one, because it’s just so good ?
Soon I will try out new ones but seriously try this one here:
1 block firm tofu (water squeezed out)
4 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp maple syrup
3 tbsp starch
3 tbsp rice vinegar
4 tbsp water
Ginger (small piece, grated)
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp sesame seeds
➡️ First cut the tofu in small cubes put in a container with lid and add 2 tbsp of starch. Shake until the tofu cubes are all covered in starch
➡️ Place a saucepan over a medium heat. Add the oil to the pan and fry the tofu golden brown, then set aside
➡️ Meanwhile combine the remaining ingredients for the marinade
✨Pro tip: use an old jam jar with lid so you can shake it easily ✨
➡️ In the pan on low heat (let it cool down before) add the marinade then the tofu and stir until the tofu is completely covered
Serve with some sesame seeds to a noodle, rice recipe or enjoy them pure ?
