Spaghetti is a meal that most everyone has growing up. When I was little all I ever had was spaghetti sauce out of the jar. I could easily do the same thing now, but there’s something so wonderful about making the spaghetti sauce yourself. This is a very simple recipe and goes great with whole wheat noodles. I will also include another post featuring my vegan meatballs soon.
.1 15 ounce can of tomato sauce
.6 ounce can of tomato paste
.1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
.1 tbsp parsley flakes
.1 tbsp sugar
.1 cup of water
.1/2 tbsp liquid aminos
.15 chopped basil leaves
.Red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to taste
.To begin, chop your onion and garlic.
.Once chopped, cook the onion on medium heat with some oil until translucent.
.Once the onions are done, toss the garlic and cook for about 2 minutes.
.Next, add in the tomato sauce, water, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, parsley flakes, sugar, and liquid aminos.
.Bring to a boil and then lower heat. Allow the sauce to simmer for 30 minutes.
.Once the sauce is done, add the basil. Then, add the red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to taste.
