💚SEITAN ROAST 💚
Yesterday I finally got my hands on some vital wheat flour and had to try make a seitan roast. This was wayyyy easier than I thought it was going to be. It’s just a little time consuming but really simple!

Recipe:
-1 1/2 cups of vital wheat flour
-1/2 cup of nutritional yeast
-1 tsp of:
-Smoked paprika
-garlic granules
-onion powder
-Cayane powder
-turmeric
-black pepper

-3/4 cups of cold water
-half pack of tofu
-4 teaspoons of tomato paste
-1 tablespoon of tomato ketchup
-1 tablespoon of liquid smoke
-1 vegetable stock cube
-1 tablespoon of soy sauce

Method:
-mix all dry ingredients in a bowl
-Mix the tofu in a food processor along with vegetable stock cube
-mix all the wet ingredients in a separate container
-add all parts into the dry mixture
-Mix until a dough has formed (if too wet, add more flour or if too dry, add more water)
-kneed this mixture gently for a couple of minutes
-Roll dough into a log and wrap with tin foil
-Place in the oven at 180 degrees. 30 minutes later, remove foil and brush with a mixture of tomato ketchup, liquid smoke and soy sauce.
-add foil again and bake for a further 30/40 mins!
-If you prefer it more crispy on the outside, remove the foil, add more of the sauce and bake for a little while longer!
