Sad this was the best pic I got, but have to post this because it’s homemade sweet n sour tofu!!!
For the tofu:
I use 1/4 block per person, I usually get @cauldronfoods
Chop and press to release the moisture (it makes it more absorbent)
Chop into small cubes and leave to marinade in a bit of soy sauce
Coat with cornflour and shallow fry until golden
For the sauce:
4 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp Tomato purée (I just used juice from a can of tomatoes as we didn’t have any)
1tsp soy sauce
Splash of water
Add an onion, garlic, vegetable oil, carrot and peppers to a pan and fry off a bit. Add all the sauce ingredients, you can eyeball the water, add more if too thick but not too much, you don’t want it to be runny. Add the tofu and leave on a low heat to thicken. Great easy recipe that takes under 30 mins!
