Recipe❤ [Tofu Unagi]
IT IS TOFU-MAZING! 🤩🤩

This recipe requires a bit of work but trust me, it is so worth it!

Recipe:

400g Unicurd Tau Kwa (pressed and meshed) -from @everydayvegangrocer
50g Chinese yam (granted)
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Sugar
1/4 tsp Sesame oil
2 tsp Corn Starch

Combine and mix well. Set aside.

2 sheets Nori
Corn Starch

Cut the sheet of nori into half. With the shiny side of the nori facing up, sprinkle an appropriate amount of corn starch.

Press the tofu mixture firmly into the nori sheet.

Pan fry with the tofu side down. Set aside after it is done.

Unagi sauce
1/4 cup Mirin
1/4 cup Soy sauce
3 tbsp Sugar

Combine the above ingredients in a sauce pan. Lower the heat once the mixture comes to a boil. Simmer for 10mins.

Assembly

Preheat oven to 220 degrees.
Brush the unagi sauce on the tofu generously. Send the tofu into the oven for 2minutes. Keep an eye on it! It will burn really quickly. Repeat this step another 2 or 3 times until you achieve your desired colour.
