Paneer Masala Recipe — do you think you can ever say no to a classic paneer dish? Something vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians can devour! Pair it with some chapati/roti or naan and you’re golden ??? Ingredients:

Paneer/Cottage Cheese 14oz
Onion 1 Large
Roma Tomatoes 2
Cardamon 2 pods
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Garlic 1 tsp
Ginger 1 tsp
Red chillies 2 whole
Fennel seeds 1/2 tsp
Chilly powder 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Coriander seed powder 1 tsp
Garam Masala 1/2 tsp
Dried Fenugreek Leaves 1/2 tsp
Cooking oil / Ghee 2 tbsp
Heavy whipping cream 1/8 cup (optional)
Rose water / Kewra 1 drop (optional)
Cilantro 1tbsp (optional)

Steps:
1. Heat the oil in a deep skillet and add the cumin seeds, cardamon, red chillies and fennel seeds and sautee for 2 minutes.
2. Chop the onion finely and add to the pan and sautee on a med-high heat till golden.
3. Finely chop your garlic and ginger and add to your pan once the onions are golden and sautee for a couple of minutes to cook
out the raw flavor.
4. Add finely chopped tomatoes and powdered spices (except Garam masala & Fenugreek leaves) and turn heat to med-low. Cook for 10 minutes stirring occasionally.
5. In the meanwhile, chop your paneer into cubes.
6. Once you have cooked off your spices, add 1/2 a cup of water and season with salt to your liking.
7. Add the chopped paneer/cottage cheese into this gravy and turn heat to low. Cook for 5 minutes.
8. Add cream (optional) and stir gently in order to not break the paneer.
9. Sprinkle the garam masala and fenugreek leaves and stir gently.
10. Finish with 1 drop of rose water of kewra and cilantro (optional).
