Never has making homemade yogurt been so easy! With four main ingredients and dozens of combinations, you are able to get creative in the kitchen with absolutely delicious results! Don’t have an official yogurt maker? No worries! This recipe can be made in a crockpot, dehydrator, or even an instant pot!
✔️4 cups of coconut milk
✔️2 tbsp. xanthan gum
✔️2 probiotics capsules
✔️1 tbsp. maple syrup
✔️Measure 3 1/2 cups of coconut milk into a saucepan and heat to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Be sure to stir often to prevent burning of the milk.
✔️Once simmering, remove the heated pan from the burner and let the milk cool to 100° F.
✔️While the milk heats up, fill the crockpot 3/4 with water and heat on high, regularly checking the temperature. When the water reaches 120° F, switch to the warm-setting.
Add xanthan gum to cooling milk and whisk thoroughly.
✔️Place probiotics in the remaining 1/2 cup of cold milk with sweetener of choice and whisk together.
✔️Pour the cold mixture into the pan with the cooling milk and stir to combine.
✔️Pour into mason jars and seal with lids.
✔️Culture at 110° F for 12-24 hours. (Be sure to keep the temperature below 125° F, as any temperature higher than this will harm the bacteria needed to ferment the yogurt.)
✔️After 12-24 hours, remove the jars from the hot water bath and place them in the fridge to cool for 24 hours.
✔️Top with your favorite toppings, such as berries, nuts, or granola. Eat and Enjoy!
✔️Be sure to sterilize jars ahead of time by either running them through the dishwasher or boiling them in water!
