Mixing in plant based meals does not mean you skip the protein. One of the principles I always recommend to my clients is to include protein, carbohydrates and fat (also known as macronutrients) in every meal. Including a balance of macronutrients in your meals helps balance blood sugar, improves digestion and promotes satiety so you do not feel hungry soon after eating.

Ingredients: • black rice (1 cup cooked) • roasted butternut squash (dipped in aquafaba, coated with gluten-free breadcrumbs) • roasted green beans with almond slices, drizzled in olive oil • kale slaw with cabbage, avocado, hemp seeds, nutritional yeast and tahini lemon dressing
