Middle Eastern Spiced Meatballs❤️(with homemade Garlic Bread🤤🧄)

We (myself & Josh) always used to go to this amazing little Moroccan Tapas restaurant for a date night. This was before we went vegan. So I decided to re create a vegan version of our favourite dish😍

It was INCREDIBLE!!

Here’s the recipe..

Ingredients:
1 pack of Asda’s new Vegan Halloumi & Tomato style balls
{for the sauce}
1 large onions, chopped
2 tbsp olive oil
1 lemon
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp dried red chilli flakes (optional)
2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme
1 cinnamon stick
2 bay leaves
{toppings}
Pomegranate seeds
@alpro plain yoghurt
Pine nuts (toasted)
Coriander, chopped

Method: Fry the meatballs in a large pan with oil, until cooked, then add the onions and gently cook until soft – approx 15-20 minutes. Add the garlic, allspice and chilli flakes (optional) and cook for another 5 minutes.
Add the tomatoes, thyme, cinnamon stick and bay leaves to the sauce; cook gently for 30-35 minutes until quite thick. Season with salt & pepper. It may need a squeeze of lemon juice.

Remove the bay leaves and cinnamon, and serve sprinkled with extra coriander leaves, yoghurt, toasted pine nuts and pomegranate seeds.

I also made homemade garlic bread, really simple I used chopped garlic, vegan butter & a bit of leftover coriander.
