Mawa cake ‘….. with saffron frosting.
This rich mawa cake is cut into layers and soaked with sweetened saffron milk and then frosted with saffron infused whipped cream.

Recipe for mawa cake
Ingredients-
Maida-11/2 cup
Pwd sugar 1 cup
Ghee 1/4 cup
Oil 1/4 cup
Milk 1 cup (as required)
Baking pwd- 1tsp
Soda- 1/tsp
Vanilla essence 1/2tsp
Elaichi pwd 1/2 tsp
Mawa 100 gms
First add sugar, ghee,oil and whisk well, then add the mawa and milk and again whisk properly. Now add all the dry ingredients and mix properly. Add essence and the batter is ready. Now bake at 180deg. for 30-35 mins.
For soaking- add 1 tbsp condensed milk to 1/2 cup milk and add few strands of saffron. Let it sit for 15 mins. so the saffron leaves its colour and flavour. Reserve 2 tbsp of this milk. Cut the cake into layers and soak with this milk. Now sandwich the layers. Add 2 tbsp of saffron milk to whipped cream . Frost the cake with this cream and sprinkle chopped nuts and rose petals.
