It is very true that nutrition matters more than any fitness activity, and it is that awareness of what we put into our bodies that must be disciplined first in order for success to come. Don’t get me wrong, I do work out 5 days a week but from my own experience over the years, I have noticed a much larger effect on my body of what I eat than how hard I train.
Sometimes simple is best, including in our food choices. I follow a whole food plant based nutritional approach to my health. It works for me beautifully. It simply means a non-processed food vegan. Like they say, just because it’s vegan, doesn’t mean it’s healthy either.
On my plate (nothing measured out)
1 can chick peas
Splash lemon juice
Salt and pepper
Finely chopped small onion
Minced garlic and fresh ginger
I basically mix in whatever flavour I fancy. Sometimes I add capers vice lemon juice and sometimes I add cayenne pepper to spice things up. You can’t go wrong.
Flatbread (no measuring)
About half tsp baking powder
Any flour or combo you want (here I used buckwheat and oat, plus ground flax)
Enough milk (non dairy) to form a dough
Heat up cast iron pan with avocado oil
Form a half inch thick circle with your hands
Place on pan, and sprinkle salt and ground garlic (or curry if you feel like). Flip over after a couple minutes and bottom is golden brown. Sprinkle again with garlic.
Enjoy this super healthy meal. All ingredients controller and individually very healthy and beneficial to your body.
