If you guys watch my Instagram stories you know one of my go to meals at school was Chana Masala from one of our on campus food options 🫕 I definitely missed eating it so I decide to try making my own!! I used a recipe online and it was pretty good, definitely not exactly like the one at school but easy enough to make. Next time I do it, I’m going to search ‘authentic recipe,’ as this one was just an ‘easy recipe.’ Still, it hit the spot and helped me get my fix in!! Give it try and tag me if you do!! 🥫✨🌱

#dEATS: I got this recipe from a website called Taste of Home, details are below. I doubled the recipe and it was enough for my 3 person family and one serving the next day:
Ingredients:
– 1 tablespoon of oil
– 1/2 cup of finely chopped onion
– 1 tbs of minced fresh ginger root
– 2 cloves of garlic minced
– 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped (optional)
– 1/2 tsp of salt
– 1 tsp of garam masala
– 1/2 tsp of ground coriander
– 1/2 tsp of ground cumin
– 1 can (15 oz) of diced tomatoes, untrained
– 1 can (15 oz) of garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
– 3 cups of hot, cooked brown rice

Method:
– In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat
– Add add ginger, garlic, ginger, and jalapeño. Cool and stir until onion is lightly browned, 4-5 minutes
– Add spices and salt; cook and stir for one minute
– Stir in tomatoes and garbanzo beans; bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, until flavors are blended (12-15 mins). Stir occasionally
– Serve with rice. Top with cilantro and yogurt if desired.
