Might sound strange to many out there, but vegetarian and vegan food has existed for many many years and is delicious. Contrary to what people like to think, no substitution for ingredients is required to make a vegan or vegetarian dish. Some recipes were developed such that no animal product is used in making them. These recipes have been passed on from generations.

-Hummus is a dip made of boiled chickpeas and tahini (sesame paste). Lemon, garlic, cilantro, paprika can be added as garnish or enhance the taste.
-Falafel again, is a fried chickpea patty.
-Pita is a flat bread. It can be made with leavened dough or yeasted dough or a simple dough as well.
-Salad needs no description.

The entire dish is served with olives and generous drizzle of olive oil.
