GENERAL TSO’S STICKY TOFU 🤯 recipe ⬇️
I don’t say this often but this recipe reallllly is a MUST try. If you’re like me and lazy af when it comes to tofu- then lightly pan-fried tofu cubes are a big part of your diet. NO MORE ⛔
This tofu is so incredibly flavourful, easy as anything to make and will raise your tofu game to the highest level.

300g *extra* firm tofu block (the vacuum sealed, hardddd type)
3g/2 tsp minced ginger
2.5 tbsp soy/tamari sauce
2 tsp garlic powder
3 tbsp brown sugar
3 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp canola oil
Pat dry tofu and press gently with kitchen paper. Cut into cubes of desired size. Add to a bowl with *2* tbsp of cornstarch. Mix until evenly coated. Bake on a sheet of parchment for 20 minutes at 180C or 355F. Make sure the cubes are spread out and not touching.
Preheat non-stick pan with canola oil. Fry minced ginger for about 3 mins.
To a bowl, add soy sauce, garlic powder, brown sugar, rice vinegar. Give it a quick stir then add to the ginger in pan. *turn off the heat until tofu is ready*
Make a mixture with 1 tbsp cornstarch and 1 tbsp water on the side. Stir well to remove lumps.
Add the the pan, turn on heat and stir constantly until cornstarch thickens the sauce. Add tofu, make sure each cube is evenly coated. Top with chopped green onion/scallions + serve!
*if the sauce is not thickening with the cornstarch mixture, increase the heat a bit while stirring.
