Galette a load of this… A recipe you need to get saved immediately💛Banana and Chocolate Hazelnut Galette🍌🌰🍫It’s surprisingly easy to make and the actual galette only need 3 ingredients🙌🏼If bananas aren’t your jam you could go for sliced strawberries or any fruit that you fancy🍓
140g plain flour
Pinch of salt
75g dairy free butter (I always use @flora )
3 tablespoons of ice cold water
2 bananas (thinly sliced)
85g dark chocolate (I used @seedandbeanchocolates extra dark)
2 teaspoons of chocolate hazelnut spread (I used @jimjams_spreads but could use Nutella if not vegan) – or omit completely
Handful of chopped hazelnuts
maple syrup to glaze/brown
Maple syrup to dust (optional) – @maplecanadauk
1. In a large bowl combine the plain flour and salt.
2. Next add the butter and using your fingers combine until a crumbly mixture forms.
3. Add 1 tablespoon of ice-cold water at a time and combine until a ball of dough is
formed. If the mixture seems too sticky add a little bit more flour.
4. Wrap the ball of dough in cling film or keep it covered and place it in the fridge for an hour.
5. Next preheat oven to 180c and sprinkle some flour on a work surface. Use a rolling pin and roll out the pastry until its about 5mm. Use a plate and cut around the outside of it to make your pastry into a circle.
6. Now finely chop the chocolate and scatter it on the pastry leaving approx. 2cm gap around the edges.
7. Add small dollops of hazelnut spread if using and then assemble the banana slices of top.
8. Carefully fold in the edges pinching them as you go. Glaze with maple syrup and garnish with any remaining chocolate shavings. Sprinkle on some maple sugar if using and then place in the oven for 35-40 minutes until the galette is nice and brown.
