Fitness and Clean eating always demand some work from our side… When you are on your healthy eating journey, you tend to avoid store-bought processed foods and try creating some of your favourites from scratch…
I wanted to stop (at least try to) buying crackers and create a recipe of my own avoiding most of the rising/leavening agents. This is my attempt on making savoury Multigrain fenugreek crackers (you can be as creative as possible using the herbs) at home without any rising agents. These turned out surprisingly crispy, crumbly and oh so flavourful… They are full of calcium, protein and minerals.?

Ingredients used:
1 Cup Whole wheat flour
1 Cup Jowar flour (Pearl millet)
1/2 cup Chickpea flour
1 tsp Red Chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1tbsp sesame seeds
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1/4 cup butter or oil
1/2 – 3/4 tsp garam masala powder
1/4 cup fresh or dry fenugreek leaves
Water as required
Preheat oven to 350f. .
Take a wide mixing bowl add the flours and the spice powders along with salt and fenugreek leaves. Add the butter or oil. Mix well. Don’t add water right away. The mixture should be crumbly able to hold shake if pressed the in the palm. Once you see it holds shape add water to make the dough. Keep it covered for 15 min. Now take ball sized dough and roll. Don’t roll too thin. Once rolled out completely, prick it with a fork throughout and cut into desired shapes. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper and Bake for 10-15 mins. Baking time depends on the oven and the thickness of the crackers.
Have it as is with coffee/tea, pair it with some dip or with toppings of your choice. ❤
