Chana Dal Dhokra (Chickpea Dal steamed bread) – 30th July 2020

Serves 4

Ingredients:
2 cups Chana Dahl
2 cups Rice
Salt and Pepper
1 tsp turmeric
1tsp yeast
3 cups dairy or non dairy yoghurt

Method:
1. Soak the Dahl and rice for 24 hours in a large mixing bowl
2. Drain the water and blend the rice and Dahl mix with yoghurt
3. Add the yeast, salt, pepper, and turmeric and stir in
4. Leave to rest overnight.
5. Pour the mixture evenly into lined cake tins and steam for approximately 10 minutes – you may need to do this in small batches.
6. Serve hot with any dip and enjoy!
