πŸ₯¦ Broccoli and Cheese scones πŸ§€

No photo of breakfast today as Joseph just had baked oats, same as yesterday! So here is a throwback to a few weeks ago when he had some really tasty broccoli and cheese scones for lunch! πŸ˜‹

I’d highly recommend these, they tasted really nice and was a different way of serving broccoli (which happens to be Joseph’s favourite veg! πŸ₯¦).

πŸ₯¦ Broccoli and Cheese scones πŸ§€

Ingredients;
*1 cup broccoli, lightly steamed and chopped
*3 cups flour
*1 teaspoon baking powder
*8 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
*1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
*1 1/2 cups milk plus 1 tablespoon
*2 teaspoons cumin (optional)

Method;
1) In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder and cumin (if using).
2) Add the cubed butter and use your hands to mix until crumbly.
3) Stir in the grated cheese and broccoli until well combined. Stir in the milk until a ball of dough forms.
4) Take small handfuls of the dough and roll into balls. Place on a greased baking tray and use your hands to flatten them slightly.
5) Brush the top of each scone with the remaining milk and bake on 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes (until lightly browned) πŸ‘
