Bob’s Red Mill Steel Cut Oats Took Me On An Unplanned But

Bob’s Red Mill Steel Cut Oats took me on an unplanned but delicious adventure. Confession: I am not a morning person & do not cook breakfast. The most you can trust me with is a toaster. Normally we make oatmeal in a microwave because our experience has been we burn grains on a stove top. Bob’s oats took about 25-30 minutes in the microwave & while they tasted great, it was too much time (my husband did the cooking).
– The alternative was to try slow cooker overnight oats, but I have a large, slow cooker so I had to triple the recipe for it to cook well (I now have 10 extra servings in the fridge, but will freeze some). OMG, the overnight method resulted in a super creamy & extremely tasty oatmeal. I made an apple and cinnamon version & it was perfection. I only used a small amount of butter & no milk, but it was super creamy anyhow & I was amazed. The apple chunks didn’t disintegrate either. Evening prep is something I can do & having oatmeal nice & hot in the morning waiting for me is the way to go, plus extras that I can thaw & eat.
– Bob’s uses clean ingredients & is employee-owned, another reason to like their World Champion Oatmeal. It’s warming comfort food, perfect for autumn weather, just like my fall flowers.
– Thanks @socialnature & @BobsRedMill for letting me try #natural & #GotItFree.
