1 cup Warm Water
1/2 tbs Sugar
2 tbs Oil
2 1/4 tsp Yeast (or one packet)
2 1/2 cups Flour
1 tsp sea Salt
2 tbs Garlic Powder
1 tbs Oregano
2 tsp Minced Garlic
Vegan Garlic Butter:
**Melt all this together to make your garlic butter rub**
1/4 cup Vegan Butter
1 tbs Garlic Powder
1/2 tbs Oregano
1/2 tsp sea salt
Pre heat oven to 420F. In a stand mixer bowl, combine warm water, sugar, oil, & yeast. Let sit for 15 min so the yeast can activate. Add in flour, salt, garlic powder, oregano, & minced garlic. Use the dough hook attachment on speed 2, mix until the dough begins to form, then turn speed to 4 & let mix for 6 min straight. (You can do this w/ your hands, but it will take a lot of work!) Remove when finished & roll in a ball. Place the dough in a lightly greased new bowl, & lightly oil the top of the dough ball as well. Cover & let rise in a dark, warm area for an hour. The dough should about double in size. Cut small pieces, roll out, & make them into knots 🙂 Put the garlic butter sauce over the top if desired. Place them on a baking sheet w/ parchment paper. Give them space to rise while cooking! Cook until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Enjoy!!
