Bateta Pawa – Poha – A staple healthy dish any time of the day but today perfect for a Saturday morning breakfast.

Ingredients
2 bowls Pawa
1 medium potato
2 tablespoons oil
1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/8 teaspoon asafoetida
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon amchur powder
3 curry leaves
1 green chilli
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon sugar (optional)
1 lemon
Coriander leaves

How to create
💙Put your oil in the pan and add the mustard and cumin seeds and wait for the sizzle then add the asafoetida
💙Now add the curry leaves and green chilli with a slit whole or chopped depending on how spicy you like it and sesame seeds
💙Chop the potato into 1cm cubes and put in the pan and cover to cook on a low heat
💙Wash and drain the pawa and put in a large tray then add the turmeric and amchur powder and salt and mix all the ingredients in and add a squeeze of lemon juice
💙Mix the pawa into the pan with the potatoes over a medium heat
💙Add another squeeze of lemon and sprinkle over the coriander leaves a few more sesame seeds and a little bit more amchur powder
💙Serve hot either as it is or with some yogurt

If you like the dish with onions then add a finely chopped onion to the recipe before the potatoes.
