Baked Chana Dal Wada
Split chickpeas fritters with coriander and mint chutney. Taking the high road here by baking these and not frying. The quarantine is making us all try alternative and new recipes and this one was sure not on my list… but well here we go.

INGREDIENTS
~ 2 cups chana dal/split chickpeas
~ 1 tbsp red chilli powder,coriander powder,salt, cumin
~ 1/2 cup chopped coriander
~ 1 medium chopped onion , carrot(optional)
~ 5 cloves garlic
~ 1 thumb sized/ inch ginger

PROCESS
~ Soak the dal for 2-3 hours
~ In the grinder jar add the soaked dal,ginger, garlic ,coriander and grind till a coarse mixture is formed.
~ Transfer the mixture in a bowl and mix all the spices and other ingredients.
~ Form patties or any other shape (like medu wada) and place them on a greased baking tray.
~ Bake at 180°C for 15 mins or more till they are slightly brown.
~ For microwave use the micro+grill option and bake at 200°C for 20 mins.
