Applesauce Pancakes w/ almond butter chocolate sauce ?
Dessert for breakfast??!! I think yes ?
– 1 cup flour
– 1 tsp cinnamon
– 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
– 1 tsp cocoa powder
– 1/2 cup applesauce
– 1/2 cup almond milk
– 2 tbsp almond butter
– 2 tbsp cocoa powder
– 2 tbsp maple syrup
– 3 tbsp hot water
Add all the dry ingredients to a bowl and whisk. Then add the wet ingredients, whisk again until combined, and let sit for a few minutes. While that is happening, heat a non-stick pan over low/medium heat and add some vegan butter or spray with cooking oil. Add 1/8-1/4 cup of batter for each pancake into the pan and cook until the top gets bubbly and the bottom is golden brown. Flip and cook for a few more minutes. This is optional but I kept them in the oven on the “keep warm” setting so they didn’t get cold. You could also just set the oven to a very low temperature.
To make the chocolate sauce, just add everything to a small bowl and mix with a fork or whisk until desired consistency is reached.
Take the pancakes out of then oven, plate, and then add whatever you would like! I did berries and chocolate sauce.
