Have you tried lahmacun before? Maybe you have without realising – maybe if you’ve travelled to Turkey. It has a thin crispy crust with spicy mincemeat (vegan) topping. I used @richmond_foods sausages (removed the skins)/as a substitute for the mince. I found that using sausages is way better than using vegan mince. πŸ‘ŒπŸΌThese tasted pretty authentic to me 😍

Ingredients (makes 6:
Mincemeat paste:
1 small onion
3 garlic cloves
1 large red chilli with seeds
Β½ red pepper
1 tomato
1 tbsp fresh parsley
2 tbsp olive oil
4 tbsp tomato paste (Not puree but you can try it with puree. I think tomato paste tastes better)
ΒΎ tsp salt
4 Richmond vegan sausages
Β½ tsp black pepper
Β½ tsp cumin
Β½ tsp paprika
ΒΌ tsp cinnamon
Dough ingredients:
2 cup flour
ΒΎ cup water
1 yeast sachet
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp olive oil (you can just use water)

Method:
1. Make the dough by combining the water, yeast & sugar. Leave stand for a few minutes. Mix the flour and salt. Add the wet ingredients and oil. Mix together to form a dough. Place in a bowl, cover and leave to prove for 30-40mins.
2. Make the mincemeat paste by placing the onion, chilli, pepper, tomato, parsley and garlic in the food processor. Blend until it is more of a paste consistency – it will have some small lumps and won’t be completely smooth.
3. In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, tomato paste, spices & salt. Then add the sausages (remove the skin). It will be difficult to mix so place the contents of the bowl into the food processor with the other ingredients and blend for 30 seconds.
4. Once the dough has proved spit into six balls. Roll them out very thin and place the mince paste on top.
5. Bake in the oven on a high heat for 10 mins.
