So the Christmas spirit has already started at our place with the purchase of our Christmas tree. You can’t think about Christmas without thinking about food and all the foodie memories that go with it. Raised in the Eastern part of France and close to Germany, I found out about Stollen a long time ago. They seem quite popular, and you can find so many processed ones ( if you look at the ingredients list of those you ll be scared 😱)Stollen are not a brioche,nor a bread, they are supposed to be sweetened by dried fruits and flavoured by spices, agrumes 🍊 zests and rhum 🤪. Some recipes call for the extra indulgence with the stuffing of a marzipan bar inside the loaf. I chose to do it to bring more moistness and a contrast of texture, which is really yum when you bite into the almond paste indeed. This recipe is not vegan nor gluten free and is definitely to keep for the occasional treat 🤩🥳 will try to improve my vegan recipe before Xmas though and share it with you 🙏
