Apple & Pear Oat Tart
Happy Friday! How about rolling in to the weekend with this gorgeous tart. Comfort food at its best, tastes so good and is full of health boosting ingredients
Baked apples & pears with cinnamon & mixed spice bring all the autumn vibes to your kitchen too. 🍁 GF, V & no added sugar.
Apples & pears are great for gut health. They can reduce inflammation & may help with IBS & diverticulitis symptoms. Pears are one the best sources of dietary fibre, can help with water retention & bloating. Both fruits contain pectin good for digestive health & can help lower cholesterol. Filled with antioxidants, minerals & vitamins. As if you needed an excuse to tuck in to an Apple & pear tart…now you have plenty!
HOW TO MAKE:
The base was made by whizzing up
2 cups of GF oats,
6 soft dates,
handful of walnuts,
tablespoon chia seeds, tablespoon vanilla,
1 tablespoon melted coconut oil (or butter),
pinch of salt
splash of oat milk.
When whizzed, pour in to a baking tin, squish it down with a big spoon.
In a pan stew:
2 red apples &
1tsp cinnamon & mixed spice.
Add the stewed apples to the base. Slice 2 apples thinly and add lay them over the stewed apples. Drizzle with water & pop in the oven on 180 for 15mins. Serve with vanilla nice cream (made with coconut cream, banana & vanilla bean paste all whizzed together & frozen until ready to serve).
